  • Why Art Buyers Fear Their Information is a Cyber Risk When Sharing Their ID Documents Via Email

As global art sales continue to hit record highs (https://www.digitaljournal.com/business/art-sales-hit-all-time-high-in-2021/article) it’s unsurprising that the number of art buyers being asked to share their information at the point of purchase is also increasing.

For auctioneers like Christie’s and Sotheby’s, this is business as usual. Major auction houses have been asking for ID and proof of address documents for decades. For the UK, EU and US galleries, however, new regulations mean they need to do the same.

In the UK the regulations are unavoidable. Since being announced in January 2020, the business is required to comply with all relevant sales above €10,000. This entails taking receipt of information about the buyer, building a report, and storing this information for a minimum of 5 years. Much to the surprise of art buyers who are now being asked to share sensitive information about themselves when they previously didn’t have to.

Amongst this sensitive information are their ID documents (such as a passport or driving license) and proof of address (a utility bill or similar.)

Naturally, art buyers are sceptical about the systems and processes a gallery has in place to ensure the safety of their information in an increasingly volatile online environment where phishing scams and cyber-attacks are a constant threat and becoming all too common.

“We hear horror stories about how art businesses are handling this information on a daily basis, including questions from buyers about where and how the information will be stored,” said Matthew Whiteley, Head of Product at Art Market Due Diligence Platform, Arcarta

“Galleries must focus on doing what they do best, dealing in works of art. There are services available that can take the work of data security and infrastructure off of their shoulders. It is completely unrealistic to think that gallery staff become experts in data security and encryption overnight to safeguard the information they are now legally required to store.”

With regulations creating an additional burden for the art market, it appears the big auction houses haven’t understood this threat either. UK galleries report being asked to share information about their clients to email addresses such as compliance@ or PostSaleUK@.

For high-net-worth clients, the challenge of meeting the requests for information while maintaining privacy and security is even greater. The consequences of loss of client data due to an email breach could be catastrophic and yet completely unavoidable.

A gallery needs to have systems in place to ensure they are not building a ‘honey-pot’ of ID documents that could be visible to anyone after being unfortunate to fall victim to a phishing scam or malware. Let’s not forget too that in the eyes of Regulators, ID theft is a prerequisite to money laundering.

Notifying a client that your email account was hacked and that their passports are now visible to the world will no doubt cause significant reputational damage. In a world where more clients are entering the market each year and purchasing entirely remotely, there need to be guidelines and best practices to establish data discipline and safeguard this information.

With the right systems in place, a gallery can not only ensure security for its information but in turn, provides a seamless experience for its clients.

  • RegMedNet Explores the Latest News in CAR-T Cell Therapy

CAR-T (chimeric antigen receptor T-cell) therapy is a relatively new blood cancer treatment that alters the genes inside a patient’s T cells so these cells can destroy cancer cells. As CAR-T cells can stay active in the body for a long period of time, some patients only need one round of therapy, making it less invasive than other blood cancer drugs. And, in some cases, the therapy has cured patients where other therapies have failed. This year, two ground-breaking pieces of news have emerged in the CAR-T therapy space.

    1. The first human CAR-T therapy patients are cancer-free, 10 years after undergoing the treatment.
    2. The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company Arcellx has raised $124 million in IPO (initial public offering) financing to advance CAR-T therapy.

Scientists from around the world use the community site RegMedNet to keep up with cell therapy developments and news. RegMedNet has covered both of these progressions in CAR-T therapy on its website.

    1. First CAR-T Therapy Patients Are Cancer Free

Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania and Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research have published a pioneering study that documents the recovery of the first two cancer patients to receive CAR-T therapy. These patients underwent the therapy as the initial treatment for their chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) 10 years ago. The findings, which have appeared in the journal Nature, confirm that the patients are now cancer-free.

    Doug Olson and Bill Ludwig

In 2010, Doug Olson and Bill Ludwig were battling CLL, which is the most common type of leukemia in adults. Both had undergone several treatments since their respective diagnoses in 1996 and 2000. As remaining treatment options dwindled, both volunteered to become the first participants in a clinical study of CAR-T therapy, which involves genetically modifying a patient’s T cells so these cells can kill cancerous cells, at the Abramson Cancer Center and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Little did they know that the therapy would eradicate their end-stage leukemia and launch a new era of highly personalized medicine.

Both patients achieved complete remission within a year. Since then, Olson has taken up distance running and completed six half-marathons. He fundraises for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and supports newly diagnosed patients. Meanwhile, Ludwig enjoyed travelling with his wife in their motor home and was able to enjoy several family milestones. He sadly passed away in 2021 due to COVID-19 complications.

    The University of Pennsylvania Study

Although durable remissions have been demonstrated in relapsed, refractory B cell malignancies with CD19-specific CAR-T cells, until now, little research has been conducted into the long-term stability and potential of infused cells. During this study, the researchers analyzed the evolution of CAR-T cells over time. A highly activated CD4+ cell population emerged and became dominant in both patients. Data indicated that there were two distinct phases of CAR-T therapy responses in the patients. The killer T cells dominated the initial phase, and the CD4+ T cells controlled the long-term remission.

Over the following years, the CD4+ cells continued to demonstrate tumor-cell-killing characteristics. The study revealed that the CAR-T cells were still detectable at least a decade after infusion in both patients, marking the longest persistence of CAR-T therapy against CLL recorded to date.

In 2017, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the therapy that Ludwig and Olson received. This treatment, which is now known as Kymriah®, is the first CAR-T product that the FDA has approved to treat acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in pediatric and young adult patients. In 2018, the FDA then approved the treatment for certain types of lymphoma.

    The Future of CAR-T Therapy

10 years ago, few scientists had explored CAR-T therapy’s therapeutic potential. Many considered the therapy a fringe approach that was unlikely to work. This new study demonstrates that the therapy can offer a solution for patients who have cancer that isn’t responding to chemotherapy.

    2. Impressive IPO Funding Set to Progress CAR-T Therapy

Science in the regenerative medicine sector continues to advance quickly and drive investor interest. In 2021, developers raised a record-breaking $22.7 billion, climbing 14% from 2020’s previous record of $19.9 billion. Overall, investments in regenerative medicine have more than tripled since 2017.

Gene therapies and cell-based immuno-oncology (IO) developers make up the majority of these investments and have generated $10.2 billion and $10.1 billion respectively, marking 12% and 26% year-on-year increases. Gene therapy typically generates the largest amount of investment, which was the case in 2021. That said, cell-based IO companies are now seeing a much higher level of investment, a level that is outpacing gene therapy financing. And, in 2021, companies active in gene editing raised approximately one-third of total regenerative medicine funding.

As a result of these developments, IPOs in the regenerative medicine field have risen by 30% to a record number of 26 (totalling at $4.8 billion) between 2020 and 2021. While Sana Biotechnology raised $675 million in IPO financing, Lyell Immunopharma raised $425 million, CARsgen Tx raised $400 million, and Instil Bio raised $368 million.

    Arcellx IPO Financing

Another company that has raised impressive IPO financing is Arcellx, which raised $124 million to develop its CAR-T therapeutic candidate for clinical studies. In its bid to reimagine cell therapy through the development of revolutionary immunotherapies for cancers and other incurable diseases, the biotechnological company offers deimmunized synthetic binding scaffolds, which are smaller than those available in the CAR-T therapy industry at the moment.

Arcellx’s preclinical research has demonstrated that the smaller size of these scaffolds enables higher transduction efficiency, higher expression of binders on the surface of T cells, and lower signaling that can cause off-target activation of T cells.

In February 2022, Arcellx closed its initial IPO of 9,487,500 shares of its common stock, which includes the exercise in full of the underwriters’ option to buy 1,237,500 additional shares of its common stock. Underwriters could buy these shares at a public offering price of $15.00 each. The aggregate gross proceeds from the offering totaled at $142.3 million, before deducting commissions, underwriting discounts, and other expenses.

Arcellx hopes to develop a range of therapeutic options that incorporate different cell modalities, mechanisms, and targets to treat solid tumors, hematologic cancers, and indications outside of oncology, like autoimmune diseases.

  • Gen Z Explores New Social Interaction Paradigms On The Yubo App

Forward-thinking companies like Yubo place value on supporting modern interactions.

Throughout the span of time, social interactions have taken place in the physical world. From small talk between acquaintances to meaningful conversations, social interactions have traditionally required face-to-face involvement. The invention and widespread adoption of the telephone innovated modern social interactions, creating a need for participants to alter how they perceive voice tonality and inflection, without the ability to physically see the other participant on the call. Now, with the widespread adoption of digitally-based interaction, Gen Z is leading the charge for modernizing communication once more.

Gen Z is Poised to Shake Up Traditional Dynamics

Enter Gen Z, the fast-growing cohort born between 1997 and 2010. In fact, says Insider Intelligence, Gen Z currently makes up 27 percent of the United States population. By 2026, 82 million Gen Zers will be on the books, and many of them will be dipping their feet into interpersonal dynamics.

Interpersonal Relationship Topics Trend on Yubo

As tech-savvy digital natives, Gen Zers have grown up with social media and video-sharing platforms. That explains why they’ve gravitated to Yubo, a rapidly growing social video live streaming platform with a global reach. Yubo fans chat with friends (and make new ones), play digital games, and otherwise enjoy some welcomed downtime with the company of others looking to do the same.

In 2021, Gen Zers livestreamed over six million interpersonal relationship-focused Yubo chats, making it one of the year’s top-trending topics on the platform. As 2021 wrapped up, Yubo team members asked Gen Zers to share their thoughts on varied aspects of interpersonal relationships.

How Gen Zers View Interpersonal Relationships

Gen Zers continue to shake up numerous established societal norms. Whether they’re redefining gender roles, boldly advocating for a favorite social cause, or going against the grain on their product preferences, they are always challenging the status quo. Therefore, it’s not surprising that they’ve applied this paradigm shift to their meaningful relationships.

    How Gen Zers Get Together

Gen Zers are supremely comfortable with digital technology, and social media has always been a part of their lives. In fact, social media provides Gen Zers with the ability to connect with others in different countries and on other continents.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, mandatory lockdowns meant that, for many, connecting via social media was the only option available. For Gen Zers, this meant business as usual, as they have always been accustomed to meeting others online. Unlike Millennials, Gen Z does not make a distinction between offline and online socializing.

    Purely Digital Relationships

Taking virtual meetups a step further, some Gen Zers utilize technology to forge completely digital relationships. Stated another way, they never meet the other person face-to-face. However, this is a brand-new phenomenon, so the long-term implications of this practice are not clear.

    Evolving Gender Preferences

Gen Zers’ identification of multiple genders has factored into their interpersonal relationships. In this context, some Gen Zers feel that traditional gender roles are becoming obsolete. Other Gen Z individuals aren’t willing to go that far, embracing the gender binary in addition to newly identified genders. Recognizing the importance of this facet to their Gen Z user base, Yubo supports gender identification and identity via multiple app features and creates an inclusive space for users to explore their preferences and identities.

Gen Zers Are Creating New Wedding Traditions

Not surprisingly, many innovation-minded Gen Zers who are preparing for their future marriage plan to update existing wedding traditions or start brand-new ones. This creativity will likely extend to wedding venues, bridal party attire, reception offerings, and other components.

    Establishing a Wedding Budget

Traditionally, the bride’s parents have paid for the wedding’s costs. Because one-third of Gen Zers plan to cover their own wedding expenses, they will likely need to adhere to a carefully crafted wedding budget. This fiscally responsible attitude reflects Gen Zers’ desire to be financially independent. In another twist, Gen Zers’ desires for travel and experiences may spur them to apply most of their wedding funds toward a honeymoon.

    Integrating a Social Benefit Component

Many Gen Zers are socially and politically active, and they have an underlying desire to take actions that benefit others. The Knot’s 2019 survey shows that approximately 60% of respondents wanted to integrate a charity registry into their wedding plans.

To minimize the wedding’s environmental impact, Gen Zers may choose a nearby venue rather than a high-cost destination wedding. Using recyclable and/or environmentally friendly decorations, and supporting local vendors, are other low-impact wedding planning strategies.

    Mixed-Gender Wedding Parties

Gen Zers’ acceptance of different genders is reflected in their opinions about their wedding party composition. Kristen Maxwell Cooper, The Knot’s editor in chief, says the survey results indicated that 49% of Gen Zers expect mixed-gender wedding parties to become more prevalent regardless of the engaged couple’s sexual orientation.

“As we usher in a new generation of to-be-engaged couples — and then, to-be-weds — we’re expecting that Gen Z and younger millennials will continue to shatter social norms and make their own traditions when it comes to their future weddings and marriages,” she explains.

“We look forward to seeing more couples — no matter their sexual orientation — incorporate mixed-gender parties into their weddings, with half of Gen Z and millennials believing that this trend will become more popular over time,” Cooper concludes.

Some Gen Zers Say “The One” Doesn’t Exist

Many Gen Zers have embraced the concept of marriage when the time is right. However, in their Yubo debates, others have said that although they’re looking for a rewarding relationship, they don’t believe that only one person can fulfill that role.

Gen Zers Put Their Own Stamp on Interpersonal Relationships

As Gen Zers continue to evolve their relationships, they may well abandon (or at least revise) additional societal norms about meeting and choosing their partners, friends, and acquaintances. As younger members of their cohort enter the adult pool, it’s entirely possible that more significant changes could yet occur. Leading the open-ended conversation about Gen Z social interactions, Yubo is here to help them to explore these new styles of interaction and evolve the way Gen Z and the generations after communicate as authentically as they would in real life.

  • Tax Deed Issues and Joseph Griffin’s Effective Solution Techniques

Orlando, FL, USA — Many people are interested in real estate because of its growing value. Why should they not? Trending investments have always proved to be a way to become wealthy. However, it has become difficult to survive taxpaying while continuing to make a profit out of any real estate with the strict rules in the USA.

The solution to this problem is very simple. Take help from a professional in the industry. However, very few professionals who specialize in real estate taxes have a good grasp of tax deeds. Joseph Griffin, aka the Tax Deed Wolf, an Army veteran, and current successful entrepreneur, is here to educate you that you don’t need a large sum of money to get started in real estate investment, and you can achieve substantial property success for as little as $1,000!

    About Joseph Griffin:

Joseph Griffin is the author of Tax Deed Investing and the founder of the Tax Deed Wolf Academy, which teaches people how to invest in tax-deferred accounts. Joseph, an 11-year Army veteran, has a diverse set of experiences to draw on, including two deployments, a nursing degree, and the ability to help individuals restore their credit. After discovering real estate success through tax deed auctions, Joseph is now giving back to his community and sharing his expertise. “Service before self,” he lives by.

Joseph aspires to debunk the myth that real estate and property investing are closed-door games in which the affluent grow richer. Joseph Griffin is utilizing his low-cost investment ideas to help other ambitious people get into the sector, develop their portfolios, and achieve their own version of success. For this, Joseph created the Tax Deed Wolf Academy to help people in their respective work.

    Joseph Griffin’s Influencive Work Experience

Joseph Griffin has a reputation for buying a large number of properties at inexpensive prices in a short period of time. He went on a real estate spree, buying three properties in 30 days for $5,000 on a $3,000 budget, selling them for $10,000 the next month, and became famous for his real estate rampage. While the state is seeking to reclaim unpaid property taxes, Joseph Griffin’s expertise in the subject has assisted him in identifying properties that will be auctioned off at a cheap price after being deeded. Due to his specialized experience in real estate, Joseph has little to no competition in his line of employment. As a consequence, he distinguishes himself among his contemporaries in the real estate market. Griffin’s Tax Deed Wolf Academy also taught other real estate investors and brokers about the process.

Tax Deed Wolf Academy is an acronym for Tax Deed Wolf Academy

Real estate investment is Joseph’s approach to creating consistent money while avoiding errors. If you are already in the real estate sector, you are aware that the limits on property ownership in the United States are exceptionally strict. Property taxes are a requirement for everybody who owns a home. If this is not done within two years, the government will confiscate and auction the property.

Through tax deed auctions, Joseph may obtain properties for a fraction of their real worth, then sell them at their advised discount later.

Joseph decided to put his various abilities to good use by assisting others in realizing their housing dreams. As a result, he established The Tax Deed Wolf Academy. This school instructs real estate investors and selected individuals on how to purchase property at tax deed auctions.

A tax deed, a legally enforceable document, can be used to transfer ownership to someone else. Under the conditions of this title, the land can be sold to satisfy outstanding taxes. The buyer obtains the property once it is sold at auction. “Deep sales,” as they are often known, are frequently held at auctions. Tax deed sales are negotiated and auctioned off at a price that is less than the entire amount of unpaid taxes, plus interest and fees.

    Conclusion

Joseph Griffin has proved that property investments and real estate aren’t only for the wealthy if handled with smart financial tactics. Through low-cost investments, Joseph employs his strategies to assist others in entering the market, developing their portfolios, and achieving their version of success. It’s a lot less than these major real estate investors might well have you assume!
